"The student" - Crate Paper School Spirit.

It's crazy just how busy a person can be! Of course trying to catch-up this time of year seems a little silly. From October through January I seem to stay busy every second of the day. I haven't even had the time to scrapbook, crazy right?!! So today I decided to get back into the grove of things by picking up where I last left off.  Some time back I started this layout using the "School Spirit collection" by Crate Paper. So, today I sat down an finished this layout of my son Joshua from his first day of school.

Helpful Hint:A way to safe on paper.
To get the most out of my paper, I cut the big circles out of the top paper from the collection pack. This is a great way to get a variety of paper on your layout without cutting up all your papers from the pack.
Can't wait to use up all these papers from this awesome paper pack.

Thursday

Echo Park- Sweet Summertime

If you're looking for a fun, and bright summer paper line you're going to love Echo Park  "Sweet Summertime". When they released their first collection pack they knocked it right out of the park lol. When I saw some of the designs in this collection, my little brain went right to work. After opening this pack I was so amazed at the mix of patterns, colors and adorable stickers they put together. Right away I could tell this collection was very well thought-out. The one thing that really caught my attention was the adorable pinwheels on the sticker sheet.
(( In this layout Alexis, Aubrey & Joshua enjoying a little taste of sweet summertime before starting back to school))
They are so cute and FUN to work with! If you haven't heard of or seen echo paper papers you definitely want to keep tabs on this scrapbook company. Checkout some of their other great paper collection packs like A Walk in the Park Life is GoodHappy Halloween just to name a few. Can't wait to see what  they have in store for us in the future.

Hot Summer Days layout

Oh Sweet Summertime, the time has come. It's that time of year I have to say goodbye. Time to pack away those swimsuits, no more long lazy summer days, and forget about those relaxing days at the pool with you. The only thing Sweet Summertime that will remain the same is the memories we have made!

Here's a layout I made of my cousin Aubrey & Dixie hanging out by the pool enjoying the summer. The little quote sticker from this paper line says it all.
"The tan lines will fade,
but the memories will last forever"
There are a few summer lines out this year I adore. At the top of my list is "72 and Sunny" by We R Memory Keepers.  I love the warm summer colors, fluffy clouds and super cute sunny critters in this line! Just a wonderful lift me up paper line to work with.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.
Scrap Happy!

Crazy Daisy Kit Co. & Basic Grey collection

This month I received a wonderful kit from Crazy Daisy Kit Co.. With the kit I was able to create a few layouts fit for the boys. The main paper line in this mini kit was Oliver Collection by Basic Grey. With the red, blues and touch of green from collection makes it prefect for a little boy. I have to say this layout (below) is one of my favorites made from this kit.
Picture: I took this picture while visiting my cousin and her family this summer. Jackson ( her youngest son) is one of the most lovable, sweetest and energetic little boys I know.

For the title, I cut out "About a" from the cricut machine and used one of the cute tabs "boy" (Oliver collection- embellishment) to complete the title for this layout.  Of course I had to do some kind of cute & fun journaling to finish the layout. I used a white marker to whiteout a few boxes and then wrote words inside the boxes to accent the journaling. This is just a fun and out-of-the box way to journal!

Monday

Wednesday

Simply Scrapbooking

Yes, simplicity is beauty, but I love to embellish "BIG".  When I have a great photo that I want as my focal point of a layout, I try not to over embellish. Just by adding a little detail to that layout makes me very happy. Although I love the finished look of the layout , I still have to say simplicity is not my cup of tea. It's more like a tablespoon of sugar that makes me want to keep trying it again :)
This layout was made with Scrapbook Chicks - July Block Party kit.
Come checkout some great deals going on right now .

Thursday

♥ Pink Paislee!!!

I ♥LOVE♥ Pink Paislee!!
Checkout one of "my" favorite layouts I've done using some Pink Paislee - 365° Degrees and Starlight collection.

The paper in these two collections are wonderful, but the one thing I adore the most from Pink Paislee is the cork shape embellishments. I used the cork shape circle and accented it with a bling shape star on top of another circle I punched out. Then placed it on a journal stickers from the Starlight collection.
To top the layout off, of course I used a mix of American Crafts "Thickers" for the title.
Who said you had to use the same style & font when titling a layout? So, go ahead and mix it up for a great look!

Layout with Fancy Pants Designs-Like Father, Like Son

Once in awhile i'll find a paper collection that is perfect for boys/men. I can finally say I'm in LOVE with one of the best boyish paper lines out right now.  If you haven't seen Fancy Pants Designs "Like Father, Like Son" then check it out! I almost didn't buy it because it was in a paper pack(always afraid i'm not going to use it all) at my LSS Sweet Memories Scrapbooks  but Erin the store owner talked me into. Thank goodness she did. I have plans for ever sheet of it lol. The same night I got the paper pack I ended up doing 3 layouts with it. Here's one of the layouts I worked on that night.
The main reason I needed this paper was for this picture of my husband & son. My husband is a big train chaser, it has been a big part of his life gowing up. Now, Joshua has become a train chaser just like his father. This is one of those moments they share together caught in a photo. It goes so perfect with one of the cards in the pack. It reads: "He didn't tell me how to live, he lived, and let me watch him do it". ~Clarence Budington Kelland

Monday

My Minds Eye - Addey Road

I was going through some of my papers that I had stashed away, and found this My Minds Eye-Abbey Road: "Round and Round" It goes perfect with the pictures I took when the girls and I took a little road trip. One of the things I like about My Minds Eye is all the little embellishments that go along with their papers. They always have a great variety to play with.

Sunday

BoBunny- working with Sun Kissed collection

It's summer time!!!!! The time of year my kids are 100% committed to the pool. From the moment they wake up in the morning that's all I hear, " Can We Go To The POOL Mommy, Can We????" There is on doubt they are my children. Here is a layout I made with the adorable Bo Bunny- Sun Kissed collection.

Scrappin with Websters Pages and Crate Paper

I've spent the past 2 weeks enjoying a little vacation time.  For my birthday my sweet husband gave me a scrapbook retreat at the wonderful " The Scrapbook Cabin " located in the North Georgia mountain town of Ellijay. The owner Christa really knows how to show some wonderful hospitality. When she hosts a retreat, she really knows what she's doing. Everything was amazing, even the wonderful meals that were cooked. If your looking for a great place to relax, scrapbook, make some new friends or just hang out with your scrappy friends this is the place to be! I had such a wonderful time I signed up for another retreat September.
Check out a few pictures I took for the retreat:
It was so nice to leave out all my scrap supplies at the retreat house. No packing up in between meals. At the end of the night I stopped where I was in a project and headed straight to bed. No cleaning up OR packing away my supply's equals me being more productive lol.  Check out these layouts I worked on at the retreat house.

Saturday

Crazy Daisy Kit Co.

Every month I get this awesome kit in the mail. After playing around with my Crazy Daisy Kit I have l so much leftover embellishments. The one thing I hate to see is good product just sitting around in a little baggie. Not sure what to do with these little pieces you get in those kits???? Well, check this out! I took some ribbon I had laying around an went to work on some ruffle ribbon flowers.

How to make ruffle ribbon flowers:

You will need-
*needle & coordinating thread
*ribbon (about 10")

1> With a needle and thread (or you can use a sewing machine) sew a simple basting stitch along one edge.
2>  When you have sewed all the way to the end, pull the thread tight. The fabric will ruffle up.

3> Stitch the two ends together to make a complete circle.

*** If you want, you can repeat this process with another pattern of ribbon. Adding layers is beautiful.***

4> Trim off your threads and finish your flower. Dress the center of your flower up with beads, jewels or even buttons. I used all the leftover embellishments from June mini kit.

Take a look at the layout I made with these adorable little flowers. The layout is so simple and sweet!!
